How do I deadhead calla lilies?

Question:

Answers:
Deadheading simply means to remove the faded flower. Many plants benefit from this because if the plant is putting energy into producing seeds, removing the developing seed head redirects the energy into the development of new flowers or of new leaves and roots.

I usually cut a faded calla flower back to the base of the flower stalk to keep the plant neat looking. Don't cut back the leaves until they dry up and go dormant (if they do in your area) because the leaves feed the rhizomes (bulbs) and make them stronger and more productive.

I'd grab the stem the "bloom" is on and follow it all the way to the ground and then snip it off at the base of the plant.
cut the stem that the flower bloomed on all the way to the ground.
hi, just cut the whole stem off at the base so you don't see the drying stem. I'm a florist, when growers cut calla Lillie's they cut off the whole stem. You don't have to, but it looks better in your garden.
