If you freeze a butterfly will it come back to life?
Question:well my sister babysits a girl who put her butterfly in the freezer and she was wondering if it would come back to life..now dont ask why shed put it in the freezer shes a kid she just wants to know if it will live when it gets unthawed
Answers:
After five minutes, it will die. We used this method to kill large specimen insects for the purpose of mounting them as collections and for future reference.
well my boyfriend said that it will live.I guess the only way to tell is if you let it defrost
i don't think so because its insides might freeze
I found out yesterday, that a few certain types of frogs, are the only living animals that, once frozen can still live. Malheuresment, has most probably passed away.
Although, if it has been in th efreezer for less than four hours and the freezer is not set too cold, it could still live.
However, DO NOT put the butterfly in the mocrowave or in hot water to try and heat it up as this would cause the butterfly (providing it was still living) to go into shock and die. Insted, just leave it outside or on a warm bench.
Hopefully the butterfly can still live, otherwise RIP!
Hope this helps a bit!
Tasha.
Probably not. They have short life spans as it is. Take care.
I haven't heard about butterflies, but I have heard somewhere that ants can be frozen and thaw alive.
Nope, only frogs have this ability.

no. you can freeze a water bear and a few other things, but not a butterfly. brain damage as the cells form ice crystals before thawing back out.
