Scorpions in my garden?

Question:hi, i was doing the garden today and found a lot of scorpions. my boyfriend was in work and laughed when i told him as you dont get them in this country, but i dont know what else they could be. they were black, about an inch long with pinchers on its back tail and its tail was curled up. are they dangerous and does anyone know what it is? i saw at least 10!

Answers:
Scorpions would not be able to live and survive in this country (UK), our climate is far too mild. ( notice my name sake..lol) You sure they are not ear wigs? I can quite understand why you boyfriend laughed.

aah. where abouts do you live? id check with the authorities cos im not sure thats safe :S
Hi, why not look up earwig and scorpians on www.google.com and click images - im sure you will soon see the difference.
~It sounds like scorpions to me. (That is, if they are bigger than your little toe.) It could be that someone got tired of their "pet" and let them loose in your garden where they just happened to have their babies. Call animal control to be sure that they really are scorpians though. Im sure they can answer all of your questions and tell you how to solve your problem too.
Yes there are quite a few kinds of scorpions in this country. I have yet to see them out in my garden, but I don't venture into the rocky areas behind my waterfall until the sun is up. Let your boyfriend deal with them.
Sounds like an earwig. Very common. Scorpions would be much bigger!
Actually, we get plenty of scorpions in this country. If you live in Arizona, you may see some black ones. Most of the scorpions in this country are light beige to brown, so as to blend into the environment.
An earwig, on the other hand, is about an inch long with pinchers on the butt, not a curled tail with a barb.
If you are not sure what you have, put one in a jar and take it to a nursery, or you can look either up on the web.
Good luck.
im a SCORPIONNN !
wooo november birthdays
Sounds like earwigs to me...

They will not hurt you - they just look terribly scary!

THE NATURAL WAY TO GET RID OF THEM...

..in the evening, place a piece of rolled up, damp newspaper near the problem area...in the morning, the earwigs will have crawled inside to sleep - dispose of the whole roll and keep doing that nightly until you have no more problem...
Is this what you saw. It is an earwig.
maybe you should call a pest control co. and ask them or call homedepot, lowe's,or walmart and ask for their pest control dept lawns and gardens, you surely donnot want those urchins coming into your house
its an earwig
