Where can you buy inexpensive bamboo?

Question:Austin, TX

Answers:
You should look at getting either Bambusa Multiplex "Silverstripe" or "Alphonse Karr". Both are excellent hedge bamboos and generally are relatively cheap compared to some of the more expensive ornamental clumpers.

You may even want to find someone that is willing to give you a few divisions of theirs for free. Maybe try the Texas Bamboo Society...I'm sure many members their could help you out.

in the Phillipines, or just about all of the many countries in SouthEast Asia
Is there a bamboo that is "native" to Texas? If so then you should be able to find a local nursery.
Other than that, my friend purchased them on line, they ship you the shoots and the instructions. I apologize, but I have no clue what website he went to, but a Google search would probably quickly lead you to a source.
Good luck!
