Does anyone know how to get rid of gophers? FOR GOOD!?
Question:My dad has an infestation of gophers that are destroying his lawn. He lives in a small subdivision out in the country and has tried smoke bombs, traps, various poisons, flattening the tunnels, etc..etc..etc... Anybody know a sure-fire way to get rid of these little bastards for good??
Answers:
Gophers are hanging out in your dads lawn because there is some sort of food there for them to eat. If you eliminate the food source, the gophers should leave. My guess is that there are some bugs living in or under your dad's lawn. Grubs are common in lawns and are also food for gophers. You might try to get rid of the grubs. I was successful using an organic product called Milky Spore. It takes some time to work, but once it takes, the yard is grub-free for ten years!
Predator urine, like Coyote pee, will do the trick. Spray some pee down their tunnels and they'll move away. They'll think that a coyote is hunting them.
Make sure you use 100% urine. Some knock-offs don't work as well.
If that doesn't work a 12Ga will
My neighbor put a pipe down one of thier holes from the tailpipe of his car and let it run for two hours. LOL. We haven't seen them since, must have worked.
The only way is to get rid of what they feed on: grubs and worms.
