Dirt in swimming pool?

Question:We have had a lot of rain causing the yard to flood and the pool (in ground) to over flow. The rain water from the yard and flower bed has washed in the pool. I have put up lawn edging to help keep some of the water and dirt out. We had a huge storm last night and caused the pool to over flow and water to run in it from the yard. Now my swimming pool looks like a dirty country pond it is brown. How do I get the dirt out of the pool? I have a sand filter

Answers:
just like you would for l in the pool

Hmm that's a tough one (and frustrating I bet!). Do you have a pool sweeper? Our pool gets lots of yard detritus blown in there (pine needles, oleander blossoms, dirt, etc), and the sweeper definitely helps get the sunken stuff. They are pretty pricey - I think a couple hundred bucks - but definitely worth it. Between the sweeper and your filter, you should be able to deal with the dirt. If there is a LOT of dirt in there, though, you might need to empty the pool, clean, and refill...

Good luck!
