African Violet/new start?

Question:I have had an African Violet leaf in soil and a "tent" for a long while now and still no new plant has started. The leaf that I got from a friend is still very green and healthy. Is it possible that a new plant may never start? I thought all leaves would make a new plant. this is the first time this has happened to me. What should I do? TIA , Jane

Answers:
It sounds link the start failed. You are going to have to try again, but first you probably need to figure out what went wrong. Starts of all kind can fail if you over water, underwater, overheated, overly cold, or lacks nutrients. Here is a site that explains the requirements for growing violets.
