Colo. elev 6000 ft, our mature cottonwood trees are getting sick, then dying. We water them. whatsup?

Cottonwood trees have a very short life spand and because of this they tend to start to die between twenty and thirty years at high alitude. If your tree is younger then that you maybe over watering. You can tell that because the leaves start to turn pale yellow and start droping off durring the summer.
