Is it normal for my Australian palm to shed its bark?


Question:I think the tree in my back garden is called an Australian Palm but its sheding its bark its done it before is this normal? it doesnt seem to have a desease of infection i can see new bark under the old??

please let it shed this is normal, new bark will come through in the fall, cut back on the water and do not fertilize until the new bark comes in. please make sure there is no leaves or mulch is around the base it needs air
