looks like a dahlia. They are beautiful aren't they?
wow - that's BEAUTIFUL!
It's a Dahlia ... but I don't know the name of the type of Dahlia ... and there are so many 'different varieties' of Dahlia, that you could have hundreds and still not get 'the one in the picture.' Good picture, by the way ... and it's 'very clear' to me because your photography was so 'excellent' ...
that is definately a dahlia and I love them. What is so nice about them is that you take the bulbs out of the ground, keep them in a paper bag in a cool place (not cold) over the winter and plant them again in the spring and enjoy beautiful flowers all summer long. The bulbs seem to get more plentiful every year. they are a great flower!
Looks like a Gerbera Daisy or a Zinnia.

If you buy it every year and plant it... it will be the 1st. one.

If it comes back every year, it is the 2nd. one.

If it is the 1st one, it is actually edible, Leaves and petals are both edible.
I agree with Stephanie B. It looks like a dahlia, but there are DOZENS of varieties. They usually classify them by bloom size (8" - 10" blooms = A size, 6" - 8" blooms = B size, etc.) How large is that bloom? How many petal layers are there? That will help you narrow down the particular variety.
Dahlia is the flower.

I bet you bought that flower pot at Kmart.
There are very, very, many Dahlia varieties, some are extremely pretty, but all have no scent.
