Lawn & Garden Watering Guide -- What is the best time of day to water?

Early morning is the best time because water pressure is high and the temperatures are generally cooler. Less water will evaporate and it will soak into the ground better. Late afternoon is the next best time, but be sure that it is early enough for the leaves to dry before full darkness. Watering at night is not recommended because the lawn and other plants stay wet for a longer time, which leaves them susceptible to lawn diseases. Midday watering does not damage the plants, but in the hottest part of the day, a great deal of water evaporates before it soaks into the soil. In extremely high temperatures, the water falling on plant leaves can damage them

i dunno i don't know the temperature there and i live in Taiwan not USA
At night is always the best time to water
That way there is less Transevapouration (the sun doesn't evapourate the water before it can reach the plant)
I live in southern California the best time for me is about 3pm-4pm. Some have said only water at dusk.. but I think the best time is the time when I can regularly do it. Sometimes watering just isn't going to happen at that time with my schedule. I do avoid watering between 11pm-2 pm because of sun heating maybe even burning the water off. We have had beautiful flowers all summer long with 3-4pm watering.. Oh and Miracle grow helps too. good luck, JONI in CA
The best time of day? Between 4am-8am.

Midday, the sun evaporates all the water and watering in the evening encourages fungal diseases because the grass and ground stay damp all night
Early morning is the best time. It gives the lawn time to dry so it doesn't get fungus.
