Plant growing UV light?

Question:i want to grow a few bonsai trees and maybe a venus flytrap. is there a UV light i can buy so i can make them grow faster? i also don't want to run up my electricity bill. i heard those bulbs can do that. also, will these bulbs be strong enough to grow plants but weak enough not to give me skin cancer by having it in my room for a year haha

Answers:
Sure, pick up a full or broad spectrum bulb.

Just google the term for tons of links to purchase. Good thing, you can use them to cheer you up too!

bonsai (huh) mabee if electric consumpion is a worry look into compact florescent lights.
What you want is a UV florescent tube light. These draw relatively little electricity since they are florescent, but provide the kind of light plants need to grow. They will not give you skin cancer.
