How do you grow grass?

Question:all i have in my background is dirt. i want grass without paying too much money to landscapers.

Answers:
scratch up the surface with a hard rake, hand spread the seed, and water

you can buy grass seed and seed it yourself. if you decide to do that then you have to water everyday. i did my lawn this way. you can buy different types grass.
You can do it yourself, but I would visit a couple of local hardware stores (Locally owned or franchise) and ask them for guidance. There are also a few DIY sites on line that will help too!

I have some plumbing work to do soon - and it is the 2nd plumbing project.

Use the pros that populate the hardware stores and garden centers. Investigate your options -
What kind of watering is required?
What variety(ies) of grass are recommended in your area?
When is the best time to lay down the seed?
How much seed and how to distribute it?

Be curious - it does not cost anything! And what you learn can be priceless!
