Installing a pool where a stump has been dug out..?

Question:i ripped out a stump where i want to put my 24ft above ground pool. how do i make sure the ground where the stump was doesnt sink?? it rained and now its mucky. do i fill it with sand or stone or a combo of both??

Answers:
Use sand, and pack it down. Sand will compact only so much, unlike regular soil which gets muddy. Also use sand to cover the rest of the area under the pool liner. easy to rake and level.

i would re-fill it with the same type of soil that it grew in . using rocks to put in the bottom first will help fill it and keep it from further sinking ,
You should probably fill it..just call around to your local dump truck/grading/hauling companies and ask what they would recommend you fill it with
Wait till ground dries a bit. Level it off with sand make sure its packed down and level. You can spread and level the sand where pool is going to be so that the bottom is smooth when you install the liner. Sand will be sufficient.
if you have to put it there you might wanna put sand concreate smoothed over real good and put more sand on it.
All the above are good answers add to those. Hope you got all the large roots out as there could be a sinking problem later when the rest of the roots rot. something to thinl about.
