How do you keep squirrels out of planters?

Question:

Answers:
get a small bucket, fill it with corn feed, and place on a tree. far away from ur plants! they'll go to that instead of ur plants!

Set the planter on fire...then the squirrels won't come near it.
I keep them out by putting broken pots and rocks around the little plants inside the planter. One time I had cuttings from a rose bush, that kept them away even better than the rocks and pottery. I braced the branches with rocks...the peanut burners didn't fool with the flowers at all once they found the stickers! (ouch!) Once the flowers are big enough, usually about a month later, I take most of the cover off. Until that time, the planters look like a combo of plant and pottery.
