Sod always lay the green side up towards the sun
Sod. Expensive, but worth it if you want an instant lawn. Be sure to thoroughly prepare the under soil on which the sod will be laid. If you lay sod on top of unprepared, hard clay soil, for example, water will run through the sod, and then run off under it out into the street. (I've seen sod lawns that literally floated when watered!)
