Bird problem?
Question:hi there,
i have a very noisy bird in the tree outside of my house. it starts "singing" at midnight to about 2 to 3 in the morning. Short of killing it and cutting down the tree, what do you suggest i do to relocate this bird?
thanks

This may be a mockingbird. Mating season for mockingbirds is typically between March and August, and the males sing constantly and sleep very little during this time. They are very territorial and will swoop at anything they feel threatens them. Short of killing the bird (please don't) you probably can't get rid of it. If it gets killed, another male mockingbird will probably take over its territory. A source of "white sound" (such as a fan or a white sound machine) by your bed may help mask his noises until he finds a mate.
I had the same problem and It helped me sleep better so I had no problem. But one day my brother bought a bb gun and tested it on a bird outside and the singing stopped the next day.
Maybe it's lonely or it's mating season :-)) Build it a house. Maybe you could hang chimes in the tree - the noise might scare it away. You'll either have to put up with the bird or the chimes though to stop the bird coming back. Hopefully it dosn't like the chimes.
