Give a price per square yard/meter.
Length * (height + thickness of top)
Use the minimum wage as the lowest guide, then add in travel costs etc.
I used to do it for about £5 an hour. I used my own clippers ( because I knew them to be safe/good) but the hedge owners got to clean up and dispose of the mess - remember to charge exta for removal/disposal of wastes.
if you suply your own gear up to 15 pound a hour i have worked for landscape companys that charge up to 50 quid a hour and thats for three men and a van and all the gear
Estimate how long it would take!! Most landscape companies will charge about $30 per hour and up!
So if it takes you 1/2 hour 15 bucks is fair. Maybe $10 if you are using the customer's hedge cutters or if you want to receive referrals from the customer as the one to call with the most sensible prices. Also remember that if your customers are senior citizens they are cheap because when they were young it only cost about a buck and 2 dimes for such a job so they may feel anything over 15 dollars is outrageous!
