When you find a spider in your home do you pick it up gently and put it outside?
Question:I live in England we don't have poisonous ones. I always put them outside together with bees.
Answers:
Pick them up carefully, they have very fragile legs, and place them outside where they will make webs and eat all the horrid flying pests
no way even if they arent poiseness i dont like them
generally i put them in a jar and let them go outside
yep me too,my kids lol 18yrs and 15yrs are petrified i live in a bungalow level with the street outside so i can even get caterpillers and worms making their way in through the door too cute xx
That's very sweet of you, aaaahhhh!
However, the best thing to do with a spider is what I do. Suck em up in a hoover. Saves having to touch the horrible little things.
yeha i try not to kill them!! even though i hate them we do need them!!
Yes I do. and I do it with any insect if I can catch it. I hate creepy crawlies, but I also hate killing something unless I have to.
I try and put them outside - because they eat the pesky flies.& other creepy crawlies. that come in the house... its a shame when the spiders dont comply and you have to belt them with a magazine..
I do cos i am not afraid of them, but i am not sure about ones abroad.
I kick the crap out of it.
In most cases yes!
i have three cats they love spiders now and again it makes a nice TREAT for them.
the eldest cat loves tearing there legs of and eating the body.
no thats a waist of time there are millions im sure it wouldnt hurt to kill the ones in your house.
Me too, and any other creepy crawlies I find. No need to kill them just put them outside!
sometimes, yes. but some of the spiders just look dangerous, even though I know that there are not poisonous ones where I live, too. and then I act hastily.
Nope I pick up a shoe and crush them.
i dont like spides...
i do i was always told as a kid it unlucky to kill a spider..the down side i have to go to my sister's and remove them she terrified of them
depends on what type they are. the common house spider or duellica that you get in the bath I either put outside or leave a bath towel hanging over the edge so he can crawl out by himself. (I say he because the the ones you get in your bath in September/October are nearly always males coming indoors looking for females). I've got a small one in my bathroom now. Not sure what species it is but in the last fortnight it has caught 4 flies and if it keeps earning its keep it can stay.
I don't understand why people have an aversion to spiders which are harmless (in the UK anyway), yet are not bothered by flies which are filthy creatures that spread disease.
Definitely. And I always leave a towel hanging over the side of the bath in case any fall in in the night and can't get out. (You can buy little spider ladders from some of those catalogues full of useless stuff)
I normally leave them be. They only come indoors to find somewhere snug for the winter, then off out again in the spring.
There is a rather large specimen resident in a shed attached to the house, it did try sneaking over the doorstep once, but changed it's mind when it encountered me tapping my foot on the floor. No I was not trying to stamp on it.
I am in the UK and very grateful that we don't have poisonous spiders - it took me years to overcome my fear, though I'm not sure I could actually handle one now.
I always pick up Daddy Long Legs and put them outside. The others? Well, sorry about their luck. The only Daddy Long Legs I ever killed was one that made its appearance to me on the ceiling of my car as I was driving down the interstate. It was my own fault, leaving my car windows down the night before. Never again!
just walk away and let them find their own way around - if they find enough to eat good luck to them.
My Dad told me he'd never seen a spider sit on the eyelid of a dying child - so he encouraged spiders so they'd keep flies out.
I'm with him... I'll take out spiders if my partner or children are freaking, but otherwise, my house is their house.
I read Charlotte's Web at an impressionable age, also...
Helen
