What to do about frogs in my fish pond?
Question:I have a small pound in my entry-way that has some gold fish in it. It looks very beautiful, and I love it to peices. The only problem is frogs have moved in! I love all of natures creatures but these frogs are annoying! They stay up all night and make very loud noises.
Here is where it gets interested. First I would like to add I have a short history of mental health problems.
I can easily find the frogs and I can easily kill them with my bare hands. The only problem is they wont move!! Even when I prod them with a stick they just sit there or move a few inches! This drives me freaking crazy!!
I can only kill something under three conditions, 1) I know for certain it is the one making the noises, 2) it runs or fights back, 3) I use my hunting air rifle.
There are tree frogs in that area too, so I can't be certain which frogs are making the noise. I also can't use my rifle on the frogs because I practice safe shooting, and the frogs sit on the concrete/rocks.
Answers:
Kill them all. Guilty by association.
Produce a fly farm in a cage w/plenty of molasses, then use some solar lights [build a small trail leading to the caged flies] so the frogs can gladly hop into the cage in the woods?
hope this helped
Don't kill the frogs...Close your windows at night. I would love to have tree frogs singing me to sleep at night. Consider yourself lucky!
