Ant invasion?

Question:How do I get rid of Ants in my annual flowers and my rose bushes? They are eatting everything!

Answers:
The ants are there for one reason and one reason only. You have an aphid problem on your roses as well as your annual flowers. The ants are eating a liquid secretion called "honeydew" which the aphid releases, to rid its self of undigested plant juices. If you get rid of the aphids, your ant problem will also be gone. The ants however, are not eating any of your plants, only the honeydew. The aphids are the real culprits here. They are sucking the juices of your plants and need to be gotten rid of. Go to any garden center and tell them you have an aphid problem on your roses and annuals and they will hook you up with the proper insecticide. You can use chemical or go organic if you wish.. It's up to you.. Hope this answers your question..

Put salt
Ant killer. Just sprinkle it around. If you find a deep bed that will not go away, sprinkle gas on it and it will die.
Ants don't eat rose bushes and flowers. There must be some other pests. The aphids answer sounds plausible.

Don't try the salt or chemical ant killer. Salt will kill your plant and pesticides are harmful to the environment.

You can spray your plants with a dilute soap solution (made by mixing a few drops of soap in a spraybottle full of water). Spray the insects directly to kill them. If aphids are present, buy some ladybugs. (Soap also kills aphids, just FYI.)
f you've got ants, there are many known deterrents, such as salt, chalk and talcum powder. Spread a thin line of any of these white powders and the ants will not cross. If they have already invaded, a quick, easy solution is Windex with ammonia. Simply spray onto a line of ants and you'll stop their march in a flash. The ammonia is lethal to the ants. However, it does not have a long-lasting effect, so you will have to repeat until you can find and wipe out the source. When you find the ant hill, pour a kettle of boiling water into the entrance.
