How do you get rid of ant nests in the lawn?

Question:

Answers:
one kettle of hot water should do the trick

Stamp on it!!
Why would you want to get rid of it? Just be thankfull its your lawn they've decided to nest in. If they are in the way of anything just try and make the nest a feature in the garden.
orange peels, they hate the smell
you buy powder to kill them, just sprinkle round the nest and the ants carry it in on their bodies
Try find where there nest are, then put lot´s of black pepper or any other hot pepper powder in and around the opening to their tunnels. They will then carry this in to the tunnel & achoo. the egg laying queen , will soon move and the other´s will follow. It won´t kill them , but they will move on. Only thing about doing this, is you have to be careful if you have children and pets. Other than this you need to dust the soil with HCH, Insecticide or destroy nest by pouring in a solution of HCH or trichorphon. The traditional method is to pour boiling hot water , but this seldom kills enough to eliminate them completely, as it will not reach the egg laying queen
Give them a nice little pile of Aspartane (the sweetener) to carry back home to Momma. It was developed as an ant killer.
boiling water you can get ant powder but ni find hot water works
