I have a patch of grass in my yard thats dead...its about 10x10.?
Question:the rest of the yard is lush and green and this spot just won't grow.any suggestions on how to make it grow
Answers:
You could have a fungus or grub problem there.
You can take a sample to your local Home Depot garden center and they can test it for you. I do not know if all do this, ours does. You may want to call first.
A way to see if you have grubs, is to dig up a small portion of the dead grass and look below for white round bugs.
You will need to kill whatever is in that area first before seeding or fertilizing again.
Good luck!
There might be some crap in the dirt,
Pull out the grass and remove the dirt about a foot down,
Fill it in with dirt. It is too late int eh year to starrt from seed, so buy some matching turf .

Weird. Have you tried different fertilizers? And also if that patch is next to a tree it could possibly be the roots sucking the life out of it, but i wouldn't know where to start there. I would suggest just rototilling it and resod it and hope for the best!
