Do you know anything interesting about daylilies?

Question:Do you know anything unusual or interesting that I can add to my paper about them? Do you eat them? How do you cook them?

Answers:
People can eat the flower buds and tubers, but daylilies (especially the leaves) are nephrotoxic to cats:

They are among the easiest flowers to grow and spread very quickly. To keep them looking good though, you have to divide them every three years. (So it's like you "have to give them away (your extra plants) to keep them.")

you'll find a lot of interesting information on one of my favorite species.
Daylillies need literally no maintance.I kill everything and I had 100's of lilly's in my backyard...They are edible I've seen them in salads, on top of cakes, I believe that there are also 100's of varieties... The grow in almost any kind of conditions and the blooms open/close instead of die off...They are easy to transplant and they reproduce like mad.
