Should i really let my lavender germinate in the fridge?

Question:this lavender guide book told me to put the newly planted seeds in the fridge for two weeks..how often should i water them..and should i ever take them out and put them into sun for some hours during this 2weeks?

Answers:
You moisten (not wet!) your soil thoroughly and then leave them alone for at least a week. If you cover your container with clingfilm, (which you certainly would do anyway for hygiene reasons) they won't dry out. After that you can have a look, but more likely it will take at least 12-15 days. Some plants like lavender or pansies don't like light for germination, others, like poppy, need it.
