Can 1000 watt DeWalt work lamps be used as a grow light for dwarf citrus trees in the winter?

Question:Newbie to growing citrus trees in pots.

Answers:
It would produce enough of the right spectrum of light., but they use way too much electricity and put out way too much heat to be practical. I grow a dwarf lime in my basement during the winter. I use three shop lights mounted vertically in a corner of the room and lamp each with a warm white and a cool white bulb. RScott

any flourescent fixture would do the trick cheaper...
is your basement warm and large enough
