John Deer L100 Tractor Lawn Mower dies out after running for 20 minutes?

Question:After running for about 20 minutes the tractor dies out, just as though it's not getting gas. The plug and gas filtter are new, the air filter is clean, and the seat switch is new. The engine is a
briggs & Stratton 17 HP. After the engine is cold the tractor will
start again and run for for another 20 minutes. The dealer had it for 2 weeks and could not determine what the problem was.
That cost was $850 and the best soution that he had was for
me to sell my house & buy a house with a lawn that could be mowed in 20 minutes. The tractor is only 2 years old. Any help or suggestions I could get to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

A JD has a two yr. mfg warranty and if a dealer told you such nonsense I'd contact the mfg directly. I've worked with JD and they do not take lightly that type of unprofessionalism from their authorized dealers! Who did you buy it from and did you purchase an extended warranty?

There are 2 other safety switches that could be the problem. I had issues with the switch that engages the blade. There could also be a problem with the switch that you push to allow the mower to go into reverse. I hope these ideas help. Good luck!
