Is there any type of plant that repels mosquitos?
Question:
Answers:
One plant Nicaranda physaliodes, often called Shoofly, or Apple of Peru. It is a highly toxic member of the nightshade family grown as a decorative annual plant. It truly does repel flies, but bear in mind that mosquitoes have little need for plants, and will rest in ANY place that suits them. The system of `homing in`on warm blooded creatures does not rely on `smell`as we humans understand it, but follow the `exhaust` of our breath, and heat location.
A citronilla plant will help somewhat
lemongrass is supposed to.. I don't know that for sure, though.
