How do you keep Miniature Roses from dieing?

Question:

Answers:
What's happening to it?
1)Is it in a pot or in the ground? Are the leaves turning yellow ?
2)With black spots in the yellow? Or a whitish powdery coating?
3) Oval pieces cut out of one side of the leaves? Any holes in the cut-off canes?
4)Little brown , almost see-through spots ?

A1: If it was in a little pot to begin with , & it still is , then you need to repot it larger, or put it in the ground .
A2:Black Spot , Powdery Mildew, & Downy Mildew are common rose diseases . You can spray with a fungicide , but that's last resort . If it is constantly stressed ( as above ) the disease is likely to hit it regardless of any treatment , or whether it is a resistant variety .Make sure it has good air circulation, water in the morning , & try to keep the leaves dry when you water . Make sure to clean up completely, any infected leaves . (Nother cures already- infected leaves). If you use any tool, wipe with a bleach-soaked rag, between every cut . You may need to cut it back almost all the way (leave 2") . If you do all that & it continues to have problems , get rid of it & get a disease-resistant variety.

3) If this it's Leaf-cutter Bee, or Raspberry Cane Borer. They drill holes in cut-off cane ends, burrow down & lay eggs , putting pieces of leaf down the hole . The larvae drill deeper yet, klling the cane , or part of it . If you find any with holes , cut the cane down, until you get to where it's not drilled . Put wood glue on any cut off ends , pencil-diameter , or larger

4) This is due to leafhoppers . Need an insect repellent . - Hot Pepper Wax, Garlic Barrier, or both. Leafhoppers aren't there long, so insecticide probably wouldn't get them . Hoyt peeper wax also can prevent fungus diseases, in some cases, probably due to the wax coating .

5) If you put it in the ground ,plant it with the graft 4" deep . If you live where winter lows are <10F , mound soil up at least 8" , on the whole plant , in late Nov. , or early Dec.
