Any advice or recommendations?

Question:I'm buying a lawn mower.Medium sized, lumpy lawn. Needs to keep the grass short and even so that my little boy can play outside.
Thanks in advance.

Answers:
My Husband is a pro gardener at a country house. He always did our 'bumpy ' lawn with the petrol mower from work. What a mess! So, he decided to go to the big catalogue shop, starting with the letter A. Bought a Flymo, one that compacts grass and has an easi reel.Brilliant, quick,no backbraking turns on the slopes. My Husband even mows more often now! I suggest you giv it a go. I don't think you will regret it.

Lou, you do not mention if you are Buying a Riding Mower or a Push Mower. If you are buying a Riding Mower, invest in a good John Deere. It will last for ages..If you are gonna manually Push your yard, then buy a self Propelled, they do not cost much more than the other kind and with a Lumpy yard will be well worth the Purchase.
If the ground is uneven you'd be better with a hover mower. If you want advice go to your local garden centre and ask for their help.
I wouldn't think of looking at a mower that didn't have adjustable height, front wheel drive, and a mulching bag system to pick up all the cut grass. You have to dispose of the grass, but the lawn looks a lot nicer than leaving clippings all over. Also, remember, you get what you pay for. If you buy a cheap mower, that is exactly what you will get. Over here I plan on spending around $300 for a good push mower.
