Yard; random yellowish brown spots in the yard?

Question:We have some random yellowish brown spots in your yard. We have no idea where these spots are coming from or why certain sections of the yard are dieing. If we put starter fertilizer on these certain sections and water them they pop back but I'd like to know why these sections are dieing.

Thanks

Yes, it sounds like (I am not making this up) you may have a random neighborhood animal, like a dog, using your yard as a restroom. If you haven't seen it happening by now, it could be a wild animal (or a stray) that only comes around at night. Animals do tend to "go" in the same spot repeatedly..

If it was a blight or parasite in your lawn, it wouldn't just be confined to certain spots--it would spread.

As for what to do: apart from fencing in your entire yard, you might try building small chicken-wire enclosures around some of the spots. That will force an animal to go elsewhere. If the original spots disappear, but are replaced by NEW spots elsewhere in your yard, then you'll know for sure that it's an animal. After that, it's up to you to try to remove the animal.

Sounds like a dog peed in your yard.
sounds like a pet urine spot a.k.a. dog pee
looks like you have animals using your yard to go to the bathroom!! unless you know who the pet(s) owner is, there really isnt a solution to this!
