Can we grow a mango tree in texas?

Question:

Answers:
I cant see why not. I live in Queensland Australia, in a hot dry climate and have mango's growing. Mango's basically require a frost-free climate. Flowers and small fruit can be killed if temperatures drop below 40° F, but mature trees may withstand very short periods of low temperatures. The mango must have warm, dry weather to set fruit.
Mango's will grow in almost any well-drained soil , but avoid heavy, wet soils. For good growth, mango needs a deep soil for their extensive root systems.

Mango trees require regular applications of nitrogen fertiliser to promote healthy growth and flower production. Sandy soils require more fertiliser than loam or clay.

Seedling mango's will bloom and bear in three to six years.
