Can I grow potatoes in a pot?

Question:My pot is about 25" and can i grow potatoes in it

Answers:
Sure. But you won't get very many potatos in it. Plus, it's awfully late to be starting potatos. Still, you could get some small ones. Put it in a sunny spot, and don't forget to water!

I grow my potatos in tires set on the ground. I start in early April. Plant the seed potato. Set a tire around it. When the plant gets taller than one tire width, I add a tire, fill it with dirt, leaving about 6 inches of foilage above the dirt. I continue to add tires and dirt until it's 3 or 4 tires high. In fall, when the plant begins to die back, I pull the tires off one at a time, and harvest all the potatos as I dismantle the tire-stack.
