What is the best way to kill clover?
Question:I am starting to get clover that is creeping over from my neighbor's yard (under my fence). I have become exasperated trying to keep it at bay. Do any of you know something that does a good job at getting rid of this stuff that won't damage my grass too much? Also, any tips on keeping it from coming under the fence?
Answers:
Ortho Weed B Gon for clover, oxalis and chickweed. It is specifically made for clover and will definitely work.
Here's a link to more info:

If you can't find that, look for anything else that contains "Tryclopyr".
If you don't have anything else growing near the fence, you could use table salt to keep it at bay.
Other than that, you should try a spray weed killer that is safe for grass, but, kills weeds.
I have tried several brands, including store brands, and bought mine at Ace hardware.
fire will do it
aww.. i like clover. it feeds the honey bees. it nourishes the soil.and it's pretty. it could be worse..
but if you really can't stand it , i can suggest putting in those underground bedding borders, then the roots won't be able to spread over into your lawn.
the clover ,in my yard ,pulls up easily when it makes it into my flower beds.
Can you just Block it , then yank up what's already come over? no chemicals involved ,there.. ; )
( and remember to watch for the 4leafed ones. they're Good Luck ; )
Then, the grass should spread back to fill in the dirt spot relatively quickly, or for quicker results, re-seed the area
wow.
All You PerfectLawn Lovers , out there, really have your work cut out for you. my Lawn-loving neighbors must curse me up and down on a daily basis. LOL

I feel you..lol..we tried removing clover by hand from our lawn..that is a loosing battle..so what we finally did was go to Home Depot and bought some weed and feed in the bottle that attaches to the gardenhose..just be sure to read the label because some grasses take different things(like St Augustine). Maybe ask your neighbor to spray theirs also..or very nonchalant be sure to spray through the fence..grin..we did that...worked..anyway it might take 2 or 3 applications a year but it will green your grass and kill all the clover and all you have to do is rake the dead stuff off.
You could rethink your attitude towards clover. Before synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, a lawn with about 25% to 30% clover was considered ideal.
Clover fixes nitrogen from the air and releases it to the soil, acting as a natural fertilizer. It stays green during drought that makes grass brown. It takes less water and can be mown to the same height as grass.
Welcome the clover, its a good thing.
