I recently bought a lantana (camara sonja ) and was told that it would be an annual plant?

Question:My mother has had them for years in her garden and the same two plants always come back year after year, however she lives in a very hot climate in the USA. Has anybody had this flower in the UK and what as been your experience with them?

Answers:
Yes I've had them fast growing shrub, but wont go though uk winter.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/lantana...

I don't know about the UK, but I live in Missouri and I have a lantana that I bought 3 years ago. It is in a hanging pot, I keep it outside all summer long and bring it in when the weather starts to change in the fall. It has came back every year.
I live in Tennessee and have had them come back after mild winters if I plant them in a protected spot with a Southern exposure, but that's an iffy proposal. If it gets below 20 where they're at, they probably won't come back after winter.
it is shrub in warmer climates.Try keeping it in a frost free position over winter.
