Weeds coming in from our neighbors yard..what should I do?
Question:So, our neighbor cuts his grass but he doesnt cut all of it and in some parts its grown up. One part is by our fence and all of the weeds and stuff are growing on our fence..poison ivy, poison oak.. etc. so what can we do. .. Asking him to cut it wont work..
Answers:
When he is gone, go do it yourself. And if he asks, tell him the lawn god did it.
look up your city code inforcement...you should be able to call and have him sited.
I hate chemicals but spray weed killer all over the fence and ground right there. He'll see it die soon enough.
Get some weed killer and spray it on the weeds when he's not home.
do it yourself?
Napalm
Plant worse weeds in your yard and strike back. Nothing like weeds of mass destruction to get your neighbor to fall into line.
ya i'd just take care of it myself.. or tell him and have him do it
Take it to the police. Ive had it done to me before. Didnt cut my grass in Dandilion season, and the neibords didnt want dandilions in there yard, so they called the cops and the cops came and had to handle it with me.
I have a neighbor like that. Round-Up works great. I've been using it along my fence line for years with no problems.
BURN
get some weed-x and go over there well hes at work...you fill in the rest
I think you should just cut the part that is on your side and if he does not like it well just tell him that it was growing in your lawn and you didn't want it there!!
pour sulfur dust in his lawn. After that bb weeds , ivy, oak and all(plus the lawn)... ;-)
If that fence is yours, you have to clean it if you don't want vines growing on it, even if the vines originate on his side. You know he'snot scattering weedseed; it's just nature taking its course, and apparently nature doesn't bother him like it does you. If the fence is his, he can do what he wants with it, unless the city goes after him for a real eyesore. But don't complain to the city if the fence is on your property or it could backfire.
if they in your yard you may cut them back to your fence line , i would use a poision,of some sort , kill all the plants not just the weeds lol
Spray the fence line with weed killer.
You can't do any thing if the problem is in your neighbor yard. If it grows over or through your fence you may cut it off of your property. Unless you are in a fire prone area, you can't do anything.
I hate pesticides, but I would suggest an herbicide such as glyphosate (round up or Rodeo) because you do NOT want to touch poison oak/ivy. Make sure you follow the instructions and more is NOT better :).
