My new magnolia plant is not in full leaf it appears to be dying.?

Lots of our plants are suffering wiht all this rain but your magnolia sounds as if it need a dose of fertilizer. A liquid feed would be the quickest way and remember not to scrabble around the base of the plant as they hate root disturbance Good luck


Magnolia plants and trees generally need full sun..and heavily watered a full two weeks after planting..If this is done ,then a simple shot of Miracle Grow might be needed to feed the plant thru its blooming cycle. A good Magnolia should have a equal share of green leaves and leaves with green and brown on the tips...
I think they prefer acid as opposed to chalky soil could this be the problem? Are you watering from it a chalky water supply?
