Trimming Jasmine "Bush"?

Question:Well a neighbor asked us to trim their long neglected yard and we trimmed their Jasmine "Bush" like we would a Boxwood or other plant...1' off the ground and back out of the walkway so that it would re-shape...now he tells me it won't...because it is a Jasmine...anything we can do to help this plant grow again? Why are these so fragile?

Answers:
Don't worry, it'll grow back! He was probably just in a state of shock when he said that. I have two Jasmine bushes, and I trim them back all the time, except when in bloom! So just ignore that guy! You did good, Bye.

I do not know about jasmine, but dig out a little dirt around the roots, replace it with a mixture of processed top soil and some fertilizer.

add watter.
