Will my Lilly pollens grow if i plant them in compost?

Question:If not can u tell me how u can make the seeds without buying in shops.

Answers:
Pollen (of any kind) does not grow (like a seed) if you plant it. You could try to find some wild lillies, but most lilly are cultivated and you'll need to start out with a plant or two or, at the very least, some seeds.

Lilly's grow from bulbs.

Dig up the plant & separate the bulbs or root stock & plant.

They will grow, but if small may not flower the first year.
many lillies grow from seed let them grow and do their thing, most do not seed untill late fall

What kind of lillies do you have?

As for compost planting I ave use t for plants that need a warm bed (Did gret with mangoes!) it would probably be a bit hot for lillies tis time of year unless you are way way north

Compost heaps get to over 100 degrees farenheit
if you are talking about using compost instead of potting soil yes they will grow. Now when you say pollens, do you mean the roots or the little black seeds? We have grown lilies from the seeds we harvested..this year the darn deer ate the seedpods we had tried to hybridize.Anyway if you are talking about the root parts, yes plant them but if it's the seeds you refer to, no use regular potting mix.
