Birds Drowning in my Pond?
Question:I have a smallish pond in my garden. in the last 2 weeks, 2 birds have fallen in and drowned...(i guess they were stopping by for a drink? How do birds fall anyway?) At first I thought that perhaps a coon was cleaning its dinner, but these birds were fully intact.
What can i do to prevent this from happening?
Answers:
get rid of the pond pls its CURSED I TELL YOU CURSEDDDDDDD
??? you got me
They must have been sick. Birds bathe and get water from ponds all the time.
get them the little floaty things for the wings. works for mine.
Remove the water, no water.no drowning birds.
Place oversized large rocks in the pond for the birds to land on when drinking.
Try putting some light meshing over top...I have never heard of birds falling in and drowning I thought they were smarter than that, guess not.
guess it was just their time 2 go
leave tiny life jackets on the top of the pond?
Cover the water with fine mesh so that the birds can't fall in but can drink through the gaps
you can buy pool covers too protect your pool .. not only from bugs and dirt but if birds are dying i would suggest a tarp or something!.that could be realy unsanitary as well..so make sure all your chemicals are right each time you swim!!!
Birds don't drown, so it's a cat taking it's dinner to the water. the best way to stop stray cats is with colors! Get a moving colorful pinwheel, and let it spin in the breeze near the pond. I was told this by someone else, to keep cats from pooping in the kids sandbox, it works!
If you can you should make sure that the edge of your pool has a gentle slope to it so that birds can use the edge to bath and if anything falls in it has a better chance of getting out.
They may be falling out of a tree above the pond, look up and see.It shouldn't happen many more times they usually only have 2or 3 at a time...
