Sea shells for plants?

Question:

Answers:
Sea shells have no real nutritional value for most plants--but can look really nice if used decoratively.

They can be used as ground cover but should be washed throughly first so that any salt in them is removed. Because they are heavy--like rock ground cover--be careful that they don't compact the ground where your plant's root system is.

Here in Florida, some of the larger type shells such as conch are used as planters around ponds and in pool areas--they look nice with plants like pothos trailing down and you can actually use them as hanging planters by buying macrame'
pot hangers.

Hope this helps.
