What plants are good for Brisbane....?

Question:we are having major water restrictions, which means little to no watering, have practically no rainfall, and its the middle of winter here.
i need some hardy (yet pretty) plants for a long thin gardenbed.

Answers:
other than cactii, I would suggest Rock Cress. These little bushes creep along the ground and have fragrent white flowers(mine do anyway, there are other flower colors). The foliage is a real cool looking green color.

They resist drought, and do good in well drained soil.
