How do i get more roses out of my rose bush?

Question:

Answers:
Keep cutting them. With most roses, the more you cut the more they bloom and be sure to take off the old spent blooms. It helps too to prune them well in the fall. Keep them healthy & disease free.

I am not much of a gardener -- I inherited four or five large rose bushes from the previous owner of my house. When I moved in, the rose bushes where taking over the courtyard, so I cut them back aggressively. The first year them sprouted new branches (many more than before), and again, many of the branches were way out into the courtyard, and I was trying to keep the bushes along the fence. So I cut back THOSE branches. This year (2 years now with the house), near the end of April, I counted the number of roses on the 5 bushes, and it was twenty to thirty per bush. Little buds and blooms were (and still are) coming in all over the place.

One thing I don't do is take care of them. I leave them out in the hot sun and let them get whatever water they can, live or die on their own... and they seem to like it. We have had more blooms than the previous owners ever did that I am aware of.
cut off old blooms and don't forget to fertilize and water
