Bananna tree?
Question:When do they produce banannas?
Answers:
I have heard you actually have to have male and female trees close together or they won't. Heard this from neighbor whose trees do grow bananas, so he could know what he's talking about. I guess they don't attract flying insects to spread things around?
I don't know how long it takes.
Depends on the cultivar. When the tree reaches maturity, it can produce fruit if it has the proper care and nutrients. Sorry I can't be more specific.
It depends on your climate. Unless you are living in a tropical or subtropical climate, they may never produce.
In their natural environment, in 1 year or about 3 months after being cut back.
The previous writer is also correct...they need to cross-pollinate.

It depends on several factors. First of all, the cultivar--different types of banana trees take different amounts of time to produce. Then there is the question of growing conditions. Bananas need a lot of sunlight, warmth, nutrients and moisture. If any of these are missing, then fruiting will be delayed significantly, or the tree may never fruit.
In general though, under the right conditions, some banana trees will fruit in 3 years. Others will take as long as 15 years. And if the right conditions aren't supplied, then the tree may never fruit at all.
