Question:got loads of mushrooms growing ? why have they grown? and how to get rid of them ?surely new turf would not have mushroom growing ..strange .thanks

Answers:
It must have gone mouldy.

depends where the turf was from, spaws pust of been already in the ground or brought in with turf,
you can get compost from where they grow mushrooms.it was probably used on turf before you bought it.
The turf apparently had spores in it when you received it. They are not harmful, however, it is a sign that you are probably watering your lawn too much. Mushrooms are a fungus and require a very high humidity to produce. There are fungus control products available at your local home and garden store.
Funny you should say that we had a new lawn laid 2 weeks ago and my husband was up at 5 this morning and he said we had mushrooms growing on our lawn . I have got top quality turf So maybe its because they are new lawns il phone the turf suppliers on Monday to ask them
Your turf had spores . Your soil must be fertilie which is a good thing. Just keep mowing your lawn.
This does happen, i have had many queries from lawns i have laid . It really isnt anything to worry about.
Just dont eat them.
Three possible answers.
1 whoever laid it used mushroom compost to level the site.
2 there is a dead tree stump under the turf
3 the turf was lifted from an old field used for grazing rather than selected seed grown
