Best way to put up trim?
Question:
Answers:
What kind of trim? Window, door, baseboard, crown molding? Get a good miter saw and an angle gauge to start. I use an 18 gauge pneumatic nailer, it makes lining up your trim easier and removes the likelihood that you miss with your hammer and leave a nice ding in your trim. I prefer to pre-paint my trim before putting it up but that's up to you. It makes for a cleaner edge along the walls and you don't have to mess with tape and the potential for paint seepage under the tape. For stained trim, I prefer to finish the trim boards at full length then make my cuts because the stain will often pentrate the cut ends and make them darker so you end up with really dark corners. Hope this helps.
