I have two orchids-one with blooms, and one without. Is the one without ever going to bloom again?

Question:I think my husband didn“t water it forever, and the bloom part (stem) is completely off. Should I throw it out and start with another one?

Answers:
It will bloom again as long as it hasn't died. Orchids don't bloom very often. The length of time it takes them to rebloom partially depends on the orchid variety. Most orchids bloom about once every six months. Some varieties bloom only about once a year. So an orchid is just something you have to be patient with. If you have too much trouble getting it to bloom, you might try giving it some plant food for orchids or possibly placing it in a different spot where it gets a little more light.
