Dahlias with browning leaves-also something is eating leaves!?

Question:Hi, what causes brown spots on dahlia leaves? Can I cut off brown leaves or is it better for plant to be shaded by them? Also, some animal munched down one of my healthy plants. Any tips? Thanks!

Answers:
dahlia is not a larval host p-lant so most probably a slug or a snail is eating your plant. to keep the culprit away, clean the sorrounding area and remove dead leaves. the brown spots are [probably due to fungus.
