Is not wanting to be exposed to pesticides grounds for quitting your job?
Question:I work in a restaurant. Tonight they are going to bomb the place with a pesticide to get rid of the roach problem we are having recently. I am very upset because tommorow I have to go in 3 hours earlier with very little pay to wipe down all the aftermath and restock all the supplies. To top it off my boss is not even going to be there cause he will be enjoying a sunday stroll in the park instead? I am seriously thinking of quitting. Will the chemicals be dangerous for me? Is it worth my health? Please..HELP!

the pesticides are not stron enough to kill a human and when settled and not airborne are unable to affect you. the smell, if any may be bothersome. if you do not like the pay you recieve at any job and you feel you are underpaid or have paid your dues ask for a raise its your right to do so. your boss sounds like your typical boss though. it sounds like you hate your job and you should find a new one that makes you happy and then quit your current.
You'll survive.
Sound pretty normal for restruant work. Stick it out.
Be sure you have gloves (latex/rubber) and be sure you wash up well after. Take some extra vitamins. You will probably not have any trouble.
Get good instructions and pay attention to all safety rules. Like not eating while you're there, and simple things like that.
I empathize with you, but as long as the restaurant is aired out and you have plastic gloves on, you will probably be fine. The roaches are far more dangerous than the chemicals.
Theoretically, after a "bug bomb" is used, the residue that remains on surfaces has neutralized and is not toxic. I have used bug bombs many times with no ill effects, and I'm sensitive to most pesticides. As other posters mentioned, roaches are far more likely to make you ill.
