Lawn mower starts then shuts off- What causes this?
Question:I bought a brand new Weed Eater 22" Side Discharge Mulching Mower - 158cc/5.00ft lbs. torque - I used it once last tuesday (19th) which was the day I purchased.
I went to use it today but it starts and shuts off 3 seconds later. I checked air filter, gas, oil, and plug but all seems fine. What else could cause this to happen?

chk to see the choke is on, or if it needs to be primed, the gaping on the plug is correct and make sure the stop button isn't being pressed, If it all fails, take it back to the place you bought it and tell them its broke. Jewels
I don't know, but all the years I've used gas lawn mowers, I know there alot of trouble! My inlaws gave us a electric one a few years ago, and it is the greatest thing, if you just have a small lawn! Just plug it in, and go! No messy gas, or pulling that dumb string, or cleaning spark plugs. Just plug it in, and go!
Keep your throttle open, w/ throttle closed the mower shuts off. If it continues, call the manufacturer to see about a home test (I don't know if they will, but worth a try) or test the gas to see if there is any water present - you have a greater chance of buying good gas by using the same gas station you use to buy for your car.
call the place you bought it at and ask them
maybe you should bring it somewhere to get it checked and see what's the prmblem usually what the problem is is that maybe theres something broken or missing to it OR it there is something that is stuck in the blade

It needs the carburetor adjusted, take it to your nearest service dealer provider!
